Tom Chat - Gameweek 8 (26/27)
Gameweek 8 brought another change at the top of the Matchleague Premier, a tighter race in Masterleague 2 and a clearer leader emerging in Division 2. UNBEATABLES continue to set the pace in AllSwengland, while several of the Matchleague tables remain very closely packed.
Masterleagues
UNBEATABLES remain top of AllSwengland after adding 50 points to take their total to 591.
The big move behind them comes from VICTORIOUS SECRET, who scored 61 and jump from fifth to second on 571. I'll take that. 😁
FOREVER QPR slip one place to third on 565, MOATY'S MANIACS are fourth on 557 and WILLS WINGDINGS move into the top five on 555.
It was a tougher week for FOREVERGAIS, who scored 27 and drop from fourth to sixth on 544.
In Masterleague 1, UNBEATABLES lead VICTORIOUS SECRET by 20 points, with FOREVER QPR, MOATY'S MANIACS and WILLS WINGDINGS completing the top five.
Masterleague 2 has tightened considerably. FOSSIL PARK EAST still lead on 507, but DHILLON'S HATTERS scored 65 to move onto 501 and cut the gap to just six points. GLORYGLORY remain third on 489.
In the Reality Masterleague, FOREVERGAIS hold onto first place on 544 despite their low score. WILLS WINGDINGS RL climb into second after scoring 62, taking them to 524, while HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED are third on 519.
There is a new leader in the Premier.
UNBEATABLES beat FOREVER QPR 61-33 and move onto 16 points, taking top spot from EZE DOES IT.
Their timing was helped by TASTUR BONDAI BARCA, who beat EZE DOES IT 56-48 and move into second on 15 points.
That leaves the two Williams Mafia sides sitting first and second in the Premier, with EZE DOES IT dropping to third on points difference.
VICTORIOUS SECRET made it four wins from seven with a 61-53 victory over JDEACON7 and sit fifth on 12 points.
FOSSIL PARK EAST ended their run of three consecutive defeats by beating CHACARITA 57-43, while COYS FC defeated WILLS WINGDINGS 54-37.
At the other end, REPLACEMENTS beat ST IVES SEAGULLS 39-29 and JURYSOUT picked up their second win of the season, edging MOATY'S MANIACS 39-37.
UNBEATABLES lead by a point, with four more teams sitting on 12 points behind the leading three.
Last week there were six teams tied at the top of Division 1 on 12 points. Three of them have now moved ahead.
TEAM GOTLAND take top spot after beating BY 'ECK 56-48. They are level on 15 points with DZEKO & THE BUNNYMEN, who beat REAL ALE ROVERS 54-39, and CORNISH REDS, who defeated GREMLINS 52-33.
Behind them, another six teams are tied on 12 points.
GLORYGLORY beat previous leaders BADLY GOOD 57-45, while MISSING LINK moved onto 12 with a 50-39 win over MAFIA FOUR LIONS.
HOOFBALL ended TRUMPTON TOWN's two-match winning run by the narrowest possible margin, 45-44.
Elsewhere, COMMITMENTS beat ALPHA ATHLETIC 43-37, while BECKENBAURFLY recorded their second win of the season with a 59-37 victory over RED EXILES.
The top nine are separated by only three points.
BONGO FURY have taken control at the top of Division 2 for now.
Scaley's' side produced the highest score anywhere in Swengland this week, beating ATLETERNA 67-39. That makes it six wins from seven and moves them onto 18 points.
They now lead HENRY C FC by three after HENRY C FC lost 43-35 to REALSOCIABLEDAD. ATLETERNA remain third on 13.
There is another large group immediately behind them, with GOTHATTERS FC, DHILLON'S HATTERS, LALJILAND FC, MAKRILLARNA, PELUQUEROS ILEGALES and IFK HARLTONHAM all on 12 points.
DHILLON'S HATTERS beat GOTHATTERS FC 65-53, while MAKRILLARNA saw off PELUQUEROS ILEGALES 60-39.
IFK HARLTONHAM edged TEAM GEORGIES BOYS 47-43, KNEEJERK TITANS FC beat LALJILAND FC 50-40, and KAMIKAZEES defeated WHALLEY RANGE FC 53-25.
SPECKLED JIMS also picked up their second win, beating LIVERHAM 39-17.
Still top. 😁
HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED beat MAFIA FOUR LIONS RL 52-33 to move onto 16 points and retain first place.
WILLS WINGDINGS RL are now the closest challengers after an impressive 62-40 win over UNBEATABLES RL moved them into second on 14 points.
RAUKENS BK are third on 13 after beating BERRAS BOYS 47-32.
Another difficult week for FOREVERGAIS saw them lose 53-27 to NO KANE DO. Having led the table two Matchweeks ago, they have now lost twice in succession and drop to sixth.
BONGOHAM beat BITS AND PIECES 54-38, while GAIS picked up their second win with a 40-36 victory over WHATTHEHECKE.
Behind the leading three, MAFIA FOUR LIONS RL, NO KANE DO, FOREVERGAIS and UNBEATABLES RL are all on 12 points.
Manager of the Week
Manager of the Week goes to Scales for the second time this season.
BONGO FURY provided the week's highest score with 67, but it was a good weekend all round for John. IFK HARLTONHAM and BONGOHAM also won their Matchleague fixtures, giving him a clean sweep across all three teams.
At the other end, the Wooden Spoon goes to Yngve Johansson after LIVERHAM scored just 17 points.
Unfortunately for Yngve, that's back-to-back Wooden Spoons and his third of the season already.
Next Gameweek brings the Round 2 fixtures in both the SuperEtten Cup and Arnold Bolt Trophy, with 16 teams remaining in each competition.
And with the fixtures falling over Halloween weekend, there should be a few managers hoping to avoid a particularly nasty cup scare. 🎃
Cheers 🤓
