Tom Chat - Gameweek 6 (26/27)
After a couple of weeks away, the Premier League returned with some hefty scores, a change at the top of AllSwengland and a few unbeaten runs coming to an abrupt end. The Matchleagues are also starting to tighten up, particularly in Division 1 where almost everyone seems to be on nine points.
Masterleagues
UNBEATABLES are back on top of AllSwengland. Paul Williams' side scored 84 to move onto 475 points, edging ahead of Reality League side FOREVERGAIS, who are just two points behind on 473.
Pontus Gunlycke still has two teams inside the overall top three, with FOREVER QPR holding third on 454. MOATY'S MANIACS are fourth on 449, while VICTORIOUS SECRET climb one place to fifth after an 87-point week took them to 447.
That means the top five are separated by only 28 points, so there is very little room for a bad Gameweek at the moment.
In Masterleague 1, UNBEATABLES lead FOREVER QPR by 21 points, with MOATY'S MANIACS and VICTORIOUS SECRET close behind. WILLS WINGDINGS move into fifth, while TASTUR BONDAI BARCA climb from ninth to sixth after also scoring 87.
FOSSIL PARK EAST still lead Masterleague 2 on 397, although their advantage has been cut to 17 points after a 42-point week. GLORYGLORY remain second on 380 and DHILLON'S HATTERS third on 374.
Further down, IFK HARLTONHAM continue their charge up the table, moving from ninth to fourth after another strong score of 72. BY 'ECK make an even bigger jump, from 14th to fifth after also scoring 72.
In the Reality Masterleague, FOREVERGAIS remain comfortably clear on 473. HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED stay second on 413, while MAFIA FOUR LIONS RL jump from seventh to third after producing the highest score anywhere in Swengland this week.
FOREVER QPR and EZE DOES IT now share the lead after both made it four wins from five.
FOREVER QPR beat JURYSOUT 81-58, while EZE DOES IT had a much tighter afternoon, squeezing past JDEACON7 69-67. Both sit on 12 points, with Pontus' side top on points difference.
UNBEATABLES move into third on ten points after edging WILLS WINGDINGS 84-81.
One of the week's biggest Premier results came from TASTUR BONDAI BARCA, who beat previous leaders FOSSIL PARK EAST 87-42. After starting the season with three straight wins, FOSSIL PARK EAST have now lost two in a row and drop to sixth.
VICTORIOUS SECRET also scored 87, beating COYS FC 87-62 to move onto nine points.
Elsewhere, MOATY'S MANIACS beat defending champions ST IVES SEAGULLS 83-65, while CHACARITA made it two wins in a row with an 88-81 victory over REPLACEMENTS.
Five matches in, just three points separate the top six.
And suddenly Division 1 is a complete traffic jam.
BADLY GOOD finally lost their perfect record, beaten 58-40 by ALPHA ATHLETIC, but remain top on 12 points.
Behind them are no fewer than nine teams on nine points.
BECKENBAURFLY picked up their first win of the season with an impressive 75-67 victory over GREMLINS, while TRUMPTON TOWN also got off the mark, beating MISSING LINK 64-48. That means there are now no winless teams left in the division.
TEAM GOTLAND beat RED EXILES 67-48, CORNISH REDS edged REAL ALE ROVERS 55-54, and GLORYGLORY defeated HOOFBALL 65-57.
DZEKO & THE BUNNYMEN continued their climb with a 72-68 win over MAFIA FOUR LIONS, while BY 'ECK beat COMMITMENTS 72-68.
One win separates first from tenth. Good luck making sense of that lot.
The perfect run is over for BONGO FURY.
After four straight wins, Mr Scaley Scales' side were beaten 51-36 by GOTHATTERS FC, allowing HENRY C FC to take over at the top.
HENRY C FC made it four wins from five with a 57-34 victory over KAMIKAZEES and now lead BONGO FURY on points difference, with both on 12 points.
ATLETERNA are just behind on ten after beating REALSOCIABLEDAD 47-19.
There is another big group forming behind them, with GOTHATTERS FC, LALJILAND FC, DHILLON'S HATTERS, IFK HARLTONHAM, PELUQUEROS ILEGALES and MAKRILLARNA all sitting on nine points.
LALJILAND FC recorded the biggest win of the week in the division, beating SPECKLED JIMS 63-27, while DHILLON'S HATTERS saw off TEAM GEORGIES BOYS 70-58.
IFK HARLTONHAM continued their good form with a 72-61 win over MAKRILLARNA, PELUQUEROS ILEGALES beat KNEEJERK TITANS FC 65-52, and LIVERHAM defeated WHALLEY RANGE FC 53-40.
The recent outbreak of draws is over. Six games this week and not a single one finished level.
There was, however, a change at the top.
FOREVERGAIS beat GAIS 76-68 to move onto 12 points and take first place, while HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED suffered their first defeat of the season.
And of course it came against BITS AND PIECES, who had lost all four of their previous matches. Dave Clark's side pulled off a 55-52 win to collect their first points of the season and knock me off the top. Typical.
The biggest score of the week came from MAFIA FOUR LIONS RL, who demolished RAUKENS BK 90-43 and climb to third.
UNBEATABLES RL beat WHATTHEHECKE 74-48, WILLS WINGDINGS RL saw off BONGOHAM 69-41, and BERRAS BOYS defeated NO KANE DO 64-52.
After five matches, FOREVERGAIS lead on 12 points, HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED have ten, and MAFIA FOUR LIONS RL, NO KANE DO and UNBEATABLES RL are all on nine..
Manager of the Week
Manager of the Week goes to John "The Don" Williams for the second time this season after MAFIA FOUR LIONS RL produced the week's highest score with 90 points.
It was another strong week across his teams too, with TASTUR BONDAI BARCA scoring 87 and beating FOSSIL PARK EAST, while MAFIA FOUR LIONS scored 68.
That makes The Don the first manager to pick up two Manager of the Week awards this season.
At the other end, the Wooden Spoon goes to Dave Clark for the second time after REALSOCIABLEDAD scored just 19 points.
A mixed week for Dave though, as his Reality League side BITS AND PIECES chose the same Gameweek to record their first win of the season by beating yours truly. Swings and roundabouts.
Cheers 🤓
