Tom Chat - Gameweek 5 (26/27)

Plenty to get through this week, with the first cup ties of the season alongside another full round of Matchleague action. We also have a new leader in AllSwengland, while things are getting very tight at the top of a few of the leagues.
Masterleagues
FOREVERGAIS have taken over at the top of AllSwengland. A 70-point week takes Pontus's Reality League side to 397 points, six clear of UNBEATABLES, who drop to second after scoring 51.
Pontus is having quite a start to the season. FOREVER QPR move up to third overall on 373, meaning his two teams now occupy first and third in AllSwengland.
Not to be completely outdone, I've got two teams of my own in the top six. HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED sit fifth on 361, with VICTORIOUS SECRET just one point behind in sixth. I'll take that. 😁
MOATY'S MANIACS are fourth on 366, with FOSSIL PARK EAST seventh on 355.
UNBEATABLES still lead Masterleague 1 on 391, ahead of FOREVER QPR and MOATY'S MANIACS. BADLY GOOD were the highest scorers in the division this week with 68 and climb to fifth overall in Masterleague 1.
FOSSIL PARK EAST remain comfortably top of Masterleague 2 on 355 despite a quieter 48-point week. GLORYGLORY stay second on 315, while DHILLON'S HATTERS hold third on 304. Further down, IFK HARLTONHAM were the big movers after scoring 73, the highest total anywhere in AllSwengland this week.
In the Reality Masterleague, FOREVERGAIS lead HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED by 36 points, with NO KANE DO moving up to third on 322.
The Premier no longer has a perfect team.
FOSSIL PARK EAST finally lost their 100% record, beaten 64-48 by REPLACEMENTS, who picked up their first win of the season in the process.
That result has opened things right up at the top. FOREVER QPR move into first place after beating VICTORIOUS SECRET 61-55, while EZE DOES IT join them on nine points following a 49-43 win over MOATY'S MANIACS. FOSSIL PARK EAST are also on nine, leaving the top three level after four matches.
UNBEATABLES are just behind on seven points after a comfortable 51-29 win over TASTUR BONDAI BARCA.
At the other end, CHACARITA finally got off the mark with a 60-39 victory over JDEACON7. ST IVES
SEAGULLS beat COYS FC 55-48, while WILLS WINGDINGS edged JURYSOUT 59-55.
A week ago FOSSIL PARK EAST had a three-point lead. Now the top three are level.
BADLY GOOD are now the only team across Division 1 with a perfect record, making it four wins from four after beating CORNISH REDS 68-47.
Last week's other unbeaten side GREMLINS came unstuck in spectacular fashion, losing 68-32 to RED EXILES. That result sends RED EXILES up to second, three points behind the leaders.
MISSING LINK also move onto nine points after beating GLORYGLORY 59-42, while REAL ALE ROVERS join them following a 53-42 win against BY 'ECK.
ALPHA ATHLETIC had a comfortable 51-26 victory over MAFIA FOUR LIONS, while DZEKO & THE BUNNYMEN beat HOOFBALL 53-33 and TEAM GOTLAND saw off TRUMPTON TOWN 43-37.
There was finally something to celebrate for COMMITMENTS, who picked up their first points with a 55-46 win over BECKENBAURFLY.
That leaves TRUMPTON TOWN and BECKENBAURFLY as the only Division 1 sides still without a point.
No such problems for BONGO FURY, who just keep winning.
A 66-50 victory over LALJILAND FC makes it four wins from four and gives them a three-point lead at the top of Division 2.
Behind them, HENRY C FC move up to second after beating ATLETERNA 58-52, handing Patrik's side their first defeat of the season. Patrik's other team MAKRILLARNA are also on nine points following a 67-57 win over KAMIKAZEES.
The week's biggest Matchleague score belonged to IFK HARLTONHAM, who beat KNEEJERK TITANS FC 73-56. Scaley's other Division 2 side BONGO FURY may be top of the table, but IFK HARLTONHAM took the headlines this week.
WHALLEY RANGE FC beat GOTHATTERS FC 61-56, while PELUQUEROS ILEGALES edged DHILLON'S HATTERS 52-48.
There were also first wins of the season for REALSOCIABLEDAD, who beat LIVERHAM 48-39, and SPECKLED JIMS, who saw off TEAM GEORGIES BOYS 54-49.
Draws are usually pretty rare across the Matchleagues, but the Reality League has now produced three in the last two Matchweeks.
After HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED and WILLS WINGDINGS RL finished 87-87 last time out, two more fixtures ended level this week. WILLS WINGDINGS RL were involved again, sharing the points with WHATTHEHECKE at 42-42, while RAUKENS BK and GAIS drew 60-60.
At the top, HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED remain unbeaten and move onto ten points after beating UNBEATABLES RL 52-45.
FOREVERGAIS stay one point behind after a comfortable 70-36 win over BITS AND PIECES, while NO KANE DO also move onto nine points following a 64-36 victory against MAFIA FOUR LIONS RL.
BONGOHAM completed the week's winners with a 62-42 victory over BERRAS BOYS.
Four matches in and HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED are the only unbeaten side, while BITS AND PIECES are still searching for their first Reality Matchleague point.
Cup Draws
The first knockout matches of the season took place this week, with seven qualifying ties in both the SuperEtten Cup and Arnold Bolt Trophy. The winners now join the nine teams who received byes to make up the final 16 in each competition.
In the SuperEtten Cup, CHACARITA beat JURYSOUT 60-55, BONGO FURY knocked out defending Matchleague Premier champions and SuperEtten Cup holders ST IVES SEAGULLS 66-55, and MISSING LINK beat COMMITMENTS 59-55.
CORNISH REDS progressed with a 47-43 win over MOATY'S MANIACS, RED EXILES comfortably beat DZEKO & THE BUNNYMEN 68-53, and SPECKLED JIMS saw off MAFIA FOUR LIONS 54-26.
The closest tie came right at the end, with EZE DOES IT edging COYS FC 49-48.
The Arnold Bolt Trophy produced another one-point result, as LALJILAND FC squeezed past TEAM GEORGIES BOYS 50-49.
Elsewhere, HENRY C FC beat ALPHA ATHLETIC 58-51, ATLETERNA defeated TRUMPTON TOWN 52-37, and REALSOCIABLEDAD progressed with a 48-46 win over BECKENBAURFLY.
WHALLEY RANGE FC beat KAMIKAZEES 61-57, BY 'ECK knocked out LIVERHAM 42-39, and KNEEJERK TITANS FC completed the qualifiers with a 56-39 victory over JDEACON7.
The Round 2 draws for both competitions will take place on Monday 5 October, with the next cup matches scheduled for Gameweek 9.:
Manager of the Week
Manager of the Week goes to Mr Scaley Scales after IFK HARLTONHAM produced the highest score across AllSwengland with 73 points.
It was a very good week for Scaley all round. BONGO FURY scored 66 to maintain their perfect Division 2 record and progress in the SuperEtten Cup, while BONGOHAM scored 62 and won in the Reality Matchleague.
The Wooden Spoon of the Week goes to John "The Don" Williams after MAFIA FOUR LIONS managed just 26 points. That score also saw them dumped out of the SuperEtten Cup by SPECKLED JIMS, so not one he'll be rushing to remember.
Cheers 🤓
