Tom Chat - Gameweek 2 (26/27)
The Matchleagues are under way, with Gameweek 2 bringing the first head-to-head action of the new season across all four divisions. There was plenty of movement in the Masterleagues too, with a few early leaders beginning to emerge after the opening two gameweeks.
Masterleagues
UNBEATABLES remain top of AllSwengland after another strong week, moving onto 199 points. Reality League side FOREVERGAIS are second overall on 191, with MAFIA FOUR LIONS third on 184.
Pontus is having quite a start all round. His other team, FOREVER QPR, sit fifth in AllSwengland on 172 points, meaning he currently has two teams inside the overall top five. They also occupy the top two places in the Swedish Masterleague, with FOREVERGAIS leading FOREVER QPR.
In Masterleague 1, UNBEATABLES lead on 199 points ahead of MAFIA FOUR LIONS on 184 and MOATY'S MANIACS on 175. The week's biggest score has pushed VICTORIOUS SECRET from 19th to fifth after a 123-point Gameweek, while TASTUR BONDAI BARCA move up to sixth.
There has been a complete reshuffle at the top of Masterleague 2. FOSSIL PARK EAST jump from 19th to first after their 114-point week and now lead on 151 points, just two ahead of ALPHA ATHLETIC. REAL ALE ROVERS sit third on 138, while last week's leader LIVERHAM drops to ninth after scoring 46.
UNBEATABLES also lead both the GB Masterleague and Champions Masterleague, while FOREVERGAIS remain out in front in the Svenska Mästerligan and the Reality Masterleague.
Still very early days, but there are already a few familiar names appearing near the top.
FOREVER QPR take the early lead after a convincing 101-50 win over CHACARITA, giving them the best points difference after the opening round.
The highest-scoring game came between UNBEATABLES and VICTORIOUS SECRET, with VICTORIOUS SECRET coming away with an impressive 123-110 win. UNBEATABLES may still lead the overall AllSwengland table, but their Matchleague campaign starts with a defeat.
FOSSIL PARK EAST also made a strong start, beating COYS FC 114-97, while TASTUR BONDAI BARCA saw off MOATY'S MANIACS 111-88.
Elsewhere, EZE DOES IT beat WILLS WINGDINGS 100-79, defending champions ST IVES SEAGULLS opened with a 91-75 win over JURYSOUT, and JDEACON7 beat REPLACEMENTS 88-64.
One game in, there is obviously not much to read into the table just yet, but FOREVER QPR are the first team to sit at the top.
MAFIA FOUR LIONS make the strongest start in Division 1, beating BECKENBAURFLY 110-73 to take first place on points difference.
ALPHA ATHLETIC are just behind after an excellent 103-73 win over last season's Division 2 champions GLORY GLORY, while DZEKO & THE BUNNYMEN started with a 99-71 victory against TRUMPTON TOWN, previously known as Shadwell Town.
There were much tighter contests elsewhere. REAL ALE ROVERS edged TEAM GOTLAND 87-84, while BADLY GOOD beat RED EXILES 66-63.
GREMLINS opened with a 102-90 win against COMMITMENTS, HOOFBALL beat BY 'ECK 77-59, and CORNISH REDS came away with a 76-56 victory over MISSING LINK.
The biggest opening win in Division 2 belongs to WHALLEY RANGE FC, who beat new side PELUQUEROS ILEGALES 88-50 and go straight to the top.
HENRY C FC also started strongly with a 76-56 win over LALJILAND FC, while KAMIKAZEES beat GOTHATTERS FC 76-65.
It was much closer for MAKRILLARNA, who squeezed past newcomer DHILLON’S HATTERS 55-54 in the tightest result of the Matchleague week.
There was a winning start for Lars Oberg's new second team KNEEJERK TITANS FC, beating SPECKLED JIMS 59-55. TEAM GEORGIES BOYS also edged REALSOCIABLEDAD 61-58, while BONGO FURY beat IFK HARLTONHAM 63-49.
Gameweek 1 Masterleague 2 leader LIVERHAM had a tougher first Matchleague outing, losing 63-46 to ATLETERNA.
There were some big numbers in the opening Reality Matchleague fixtures, with MAFIA FOUR LIONS RL taking first place after a huge 111-49 win over BITS AND PIECES.
HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED were the highest scorers in the division, beating WHATTHEHECKE 117-67, while early Reality Masterleague leaders FOREVERGAIS continued their good start with a 107-67 victory over BONGOHAM.
The closest contest saw UNBEATABLES RL beat NO KANE DO 96-91. WILLS WINGDINGS RL opened with a 78-68 win against RAUKENS BK, while BERRAS BOYS beat GAIS 89-53.
So MAFIA FOUR LIONS RL sit top on points difference, but there are already several strong starts in a competition where squads are now locked until the January transfer window.
Manager of the Week
Manager of the Week goes to...ME 😁...after VICTORIOUS SECRET produced the highest score across AllSwengland with 123 points.
Not a bad week all round either, with my Reality League team HOTSPUR AND BOTHERED recording the second-highest score across AllSwengland with 117 points. Worth a gloat, surely.
The Wooden Spoon of the Week goes to Yngve Johansson of LIVERHAM, who was top of Masterleague 2 last week but suffered a disappointing start to the Matchleague campaign with the lowest score of the week.
